MSC Football Club Kicks Off in Style!

July has been a month filled with significant activities for MSC Football Club. The club engaged in various inter-club football tournaments, preparations for the launch of MSC, and navigated post-launch challenges.
Reflecting on the month, we can proudly say that July, with its robust activities, ended on a high note. MSC is now recognized as a football club ready to take on the world.

Football Tournaments

Three major matches were played across the club’s divisions: Under 17, Under 15, and Under 13. The Under 17 and Under 13 teams each won two out of their three matches but lost one. Unfortunately, the Under 15 team lost all three of their matches. Despite the mixed results, these tournaments provided valuable experience and exposure for the players.

 Launch and Fundraising Dinner*

The club’s launch and fundraising dinner took place on July 28, 2024. Pre-launch and fundraising activities included inviting special dignitaries from the community, opinion leaders, government officials, the press, and community members.
The launch event was divided into two sections. The first part featured a launch match exhibition with invited sister clubs for friendly matches. Later in the evening, the fundraising dinner was held, where invited guests officially launched the club and raised funds. Although the turnout was lower than expected, the launch was successful. The events were covered and aired by Metro TV and GTV.

 Post-Launch Challenges

Despite the successful launch, MSC faced some post-launch challenges. The community park, where MSC trains, had private ownership claims. A private developer poured building materials on the community land, which is used for recreational purposes and home matches by MSC.

These challenges underscore the ongoing efforts required to secure and maintain facilities for the club’s activities. Nonetheless, MSC remains committed to overcoming these hurdles and continuing its journey to become a world-class football club.

Empowering Young Athletes Beyond the Field: MSC FC STEM Program

Madina Super Cardinals(MSC) Football Club has extended its horizon into a STEM education programme. Football being the primary call for this organization, having a variety of skill sets is one of its visions, hence creating a stream of STEM programmes to help nurture these young ones transition into various aspects of professionalism.

STEM as known is Science Technology Engineering Maths plays a core role in our daily activities, hence, the need to equip these young ones with various skills rolled out in order to gain a wholesome results beyond football in today‘s competitive world.

In our innovative STEM program, we offer classes in Electronics, Computer Programming, Robotics, and 3D Modeling. Our first cohort consists of 18 carefully selected players, grouped into three teams of six each. These young talents participate in classes three days a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) over a three-month period.

We take pride in our rigorous selection process, ensuring that each participant is not only passionate about soccer but also demonstrates a keen interest, appropriate age, and commendable behavior.

During the first term, from January to March, we focus on assessing the progress of our players. This allows us to refine our approach, iterate with new cohorts, and make adjustments as we strive to provide the best possible learning experience—even before we have our dedicated facility.
Our commitment to excellence extends to providing each member of our first cohort with a white lab coat, symbolizing our dedication to fostering a sense of unity and professionalism in our STEM classes.

In anticipation, we plan to introduce additional courses in future terms or semesters, further expanding our curriculum to offer a comprehensive educational experience.

Ultimately, our goal is to transform MSC into a fully functional Sports Academy and Technical School, grounded in the African perspective. Our motto, FUBU (For Us, By Us), underscores our commitment to empowering young athletes with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed on and off the field.

Join us as we embark on this exciting journey of holistic development and excellence at MSC FC. Together, we’re shaping the future leaders of tomorrow, one kick and one lesson at a time.
